Maryland Cryotherapy

The Beginning of Why We Started Cryotherapy

As this is an “About Us” page, I’d like to briefly share the story of why we decided to open a Cryotherapy clinic. Let me just get this out of the way: when I say “we”, I am referring to my partner in life, Dr. Anthony Hardnett, and myself – Laura. OK, let’s go back to the year 2002. This is the year we met and fell deeply in love. After starting our lives together, we both decided to journey down to Atlanta, Georgia. There, Anthony, aka “Doc”, ended up getting his doctorate in Chiropractic, and I worked my way up at a local Chiropractic office from front desk assistant to main office manager in just 3 years. After Doc graduated from Life University Chiropractic College, we knew we needed to go back home to Maryland.

Headed Back To Maryland

Maryland has been both of our homes since birth and we always shared the same vision of making coming home. However, the family wasn’t the only reason we came home. One of the reasons Doc was inspired to become a Chiropractor in the first place was because of his family chiropractor, Dr. Stewart Loeb. From early on the vision was for “Doc” was to graduate Chiropractic college and then return home to take of Dr. Loeb’s practice. When we returned to Maryland Dr. Loeb wasn’t exactly ready to retire, so by the grace of God, we stumbled upon a “for sale” listing for an existing chiropractic office; it was then, back in September of 2007, that we bought our first chiropractic practice in Millersville, Maryland. At that time, we were solely doing Chiropractic and physical therapy, with me at the front desk and Doc doing all the treatments. Little did we know that 12 years later we would end up having three (3) wonderful boys, Austin, Jayden, & Landyn, that I would get my health coaching and personal training certification, and we would open up three (3) Integrative Chiropractic Practices, Effective Integrative Healthcare, offering: Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, Massage, Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Weight Loss, IV Vitamin Nutrition, Trigger Point Injections, Knee HA Injections, B12 shots; and a sister company, Maryland Cryotherapy, which offers Whole-body Cryotherapy Treatment, Localized Cryotherapy Treatment, Cryofacials, and Normatec Compression Therapy.

Gold’s Gym Expansion

In 2015 we expanded our brand and opened a practice inside the Gold’s Gym in Crofton, Maryland; this was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Keeping our patients out of pain and helping personal trainers’ clients stay injury-free so they can enjoy life is one of our highest values. But just because we are located inside a gym doesn’t mean we only treat extreme athletes or weekend warriors. No, we see all types of patients, from newborn infants to senior citizens, from computer programmers to extreme athletes; everyone can benefit from Chiropractic and holistic treatments.

The Start Of Cryotherapy

In 2017 we began the journey of researching other mainstream modalities to treating pain naturally, recover from an injury faster, and improve physical performance. This is important to us because a lot of our patients set goals, whether it is to just be their best self or as extreme as running a marathon and it’s our passion to assist them in this process by providing holistic treatments that manage their pain and improve their performance without having to seek out pain medication that could potentially ruin their life. This is when we stumbled across the “Biohacking” treatment called “Whole-Body Cryotherapy”. If you want more information on “Biohacking” I would suggest you google that term. You can now find this term in the “Merriam-webster” dictionary.

Cryotherapy Benefits

Cryotherapy is changing the lives of so many people. Every day we see clients come to us because chronic pain has caused them to not be able to do all the things they enjoy doing. They aren’t sleeping, and in return, they are feeling depressed. After a whole-body cryotherapy session, you see this look of pure joy on their faces. It’s almost like they are in shock! But the truth is, they are. A lot of our clients deal with some sort of pain, and after a cryotherapy session, the pain is either gone or reduced significantly. They for once feel like there is the hope of getting rid of it for good! Cryotherapy is used for improving Athletic Performance, Weight Management, Post-Surgical Recovery, Depression & Anxiety, Autoimmune & other Inflammatory Disorders, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Natural Pain Management.

Affordable Treatments Was A Must For Us

When we started Maryland Cryotherapy, we had no idea how much this treatment modality could change someone’s life. But now, we see and hear the stories all the time. At the time we started the treatments, each session was close to $60 for a 3-minute session. Most of the reviews we were reading would speak about how Cryotherapy helped their chronic pain and how their life has improved since using it, but then, you would hear how expensive the treatments were, which caused them to not be able to continue doing it. We were sold on the treatment, but we made it our goal to figure out how we could offer this amazing healing method for a more affordable price. After a few months of tweaking the nitrogen consumption, we mastered the ability to perform the whole-body cryotherapy session for much less money. This was so exciting for us! And in turn, we re-created all our pricing to make the treatments much more affordable. We created VIP memberships and discounted packages, saving our clients almost 50% in cost without sacrificing the quality of services. And that is honestly the most important goal for us: to be the best in quality and most affordable in cost. Click Here For Pricing
